The Potential of Green Jobs in LAC: A Territorial Approach in the Context of Just Transition

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 impacted the world of work in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), leading to significant job losses. Consequently, since 2020, the Sustainable Latin America Alliance (ALAS) has conducted various analyses on how to achieve a sustainable economic recovery, identifying in 2022 the importance of promoting green jobs that foster a just transition, strengthening community resilience, and promoting decent work. Thus, this document explores how green jobs have been consolidated in LAC since 2022, with a focus on Chile and Colombia, through government policies or country strategies.
